ml iPod is an open source Winamp plug-in that has made using my iPod a lot more fun, being someone that doesn't own an Apple system. Though iTunes is a decent application, there are certain aspects of it that I just don't want to have to adapt to, and it doesn't provide any alternatives for. Winamp is simply more configurable.

This plug-in delivers, and for me I find that it offers superior functionality. For example, I bought my iPod from a good friend who has similar tastes in music. He took his time meticulously organizing all his music on it in playlists that I rather enjoy. I go to connect it to my system with iTunes and I am informed that my options are delete everything on the iPod, or continue to use it but be unable to make any additions, changes or deletions. The iPod is bound to his computers. We own most of the same music, so I could blow everything away and load up my own playlists, but I don't feel like doing that yet. Well, now with ml iPod, I don't need to. It doesn't care. I can add my own songs to the iPod and I don't have to delete my friend's songs.
