Morning: No ants
Sometime in the afternoon: The kitchen is black with ants.
All evening, repeated cleaning of the ants (with bleach/water mixture in a spray bottle). No success in stopping the flow. Researched. Determined that boric acid was the solution I wanted to use. Toxicity equivilant to table salt for humans, yet capable of taking out the whole ant nest. Unable to find boric acid at local chemical supply houses, Home Depot or Rite-aid.
Day 2Noonish: Purchase of two boxes of ant traps (Grants Ant Killer and Hot Shot). Never had success before with these, but I don't want to spray my kitchen with poison. These are bad enough as the ants trail small amounts of the poison as they walk about. Decided to add bait to the traps.
This is the list of questions we used when shopping for a home in August of 2003. We left blanks below or to the right of each line so we could print out a stack then take them with us on a clip board to fill out while we interviewed our potential landlords.
